Carpal Tunnel
Misuse and overuse or the wrist are typically the cause for carpal tunnel related pain and disorders. Most that suffer with carpal tunnel feel pain in the wrist and hand, notice weakness of the surrounding musculature, and sometimes experience "pins and needles" sensations.
The wrist is a delicate structure. Multiple muscle tendons pass through a series of tunnels in the wrist along with blood vessels and nerves. Overuse or misuse of the wrist causes friction and irritation of the adjoining muscle tendons. The arch of the wrist may also collapse and irritate or impede the surrounding blood vessels or nerves.
Treatment
Carpal tunnel manifests as pain or weakness in the wrist, but the problem may even arise from the neck, shoulder, or elbow. For this reason, the entire arm is evaluated for the cause of the problem. Typically, treatment requires relaxation of musculature, adjustments, cold laser, home exercises, and nutrition.
