Do You Only Treat Pain?

Chiropractic is effective at treating pain, but with chiropractic combined with Applied Kinesiology, we are able to treat many conditions from depression, anxiety, ADD, organ dysfunction, digestive disorders, acid reflux, and more!

Do You Only Treat the Spine?

Many think that chiropractors are "back doctors", but chiropractic is not limited to just the spine. Many chiropractors are holistic physicians - treating the body as a whole. At Centra Chiropractic, we utilize Applied Kinesiology, cold laser, nutrition, homeopathy, myofascial therapies, and Neuro Emotional techniques. We treat the whole body!

Why Do People Travel Large Distances to See You?

Although individuals have many choices for chiropractic health care services and many are just down the street from their home, many choose to travel 100+ miles to utilize the effectiveness of Applied Kinesiology and the benefits it has to offer. Not all chiropractic techniques are equal.

What If My Insurance Does Not Cover Chiropractic?

Your health is your most valuable possession. It affects everything you do and every relationship with others. The value of your health is determined by you alone. Remember that insurance companies are in business to make a profit; many times their decisions are not with your best interest in mind. Even without insurance coverage, chiropractic care is very affordable. Please feel free to discuss these issues with us!

Why Do You Not Accept My Insurance?

There are many reasons why we do not accept insurance directly. Our main reason is you. We strive to provide excellent care for a reasonable price. Directly accepting insurance equals more paperwork which equals more time and more money. By not accepting insurance, we pass the savings on to you. Although we do not accept your insurance directly, we do provide a "Superbill" that allows you to apply your expenses towards your deductible and bill your insurance company to receive reimbursement.

How Much Does It Cost?

Conservative, natural therapies are less expensive than lifelong prescription medications or surgery. Chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology are also preventative forms of treatment. For pricing, see our fee schedule.

What Can I Expect?

You can expect a calm and friendly environment with a physician who truly cares about your health and wellbeing. You can expect support and assistance in reaching your wellness goals. You can expect hope! Healing occurs when there is a seed of hope within the patient.

Will I Have to Have X-rays?

X-rays and other forms of imaging can be helpful for diagnosis and treatment of certain conditions but are not necessary for all patients. Most my patients do not require x-rays before treatment. X-rays of your spine, especially after trauma, assist in treating your specific condition and ensure that your care is precise.

How Long Until I Feel Better?

While some patients experience almost instant relief, others discover that relief is found after many weeks of treatment. Relief is based upon many factors from lifestyle, to environment, to emotions. How long have you had the problem? Do you keep your appointments? Are you in a prime state of health?

When Will I Get My First Treatment?

The first visit will include a consultation with the doctor to determine if we are the best choice for you to receive help. A thorough examination will follow if you determine that our treatment measures will be beneficial for you. Your first treatment may be on the first visit, but that depends on each individual situation. All will receive treatment by the second visit.

Will I Receive Medication For My Pain?

The doctor may recommend some pain relieving therapies such as natural muscle relaxers, BioFreeze, or Pain Relief homeopathy. Medications tend to mask the underlying cause of the problem.

Who Needs Chiropractic?

A newborn, a child, an adult, and the elderly all need chiropractic! All ages and all people are subject to physical, chemical, and emotional stresses that tax the nervous system. Chiropractic directly affects the nervous system and brings it to a greater state of health and well being.

Are All Patients Adjusted the Same Way?

Each patient case and diagnosis is different and requires specific treatment. All methods used are low-force and gentle, but there are many ways to accomplish similar tasks. Each patients care is designed to fit their age, condition, and health goals.

Can I Adjust Myself?

Just because a joint "pops" does not mean that an adjustment has occurred. Generally, people tend to injure their muscles and ligaments when they attempt to adjust themselves, causing further damage. An adjustment must be specific and be given with the proper thrust. Even a chiropractor needs another chiropractor to treat him.

Why Do Newborns Get Adjustments?

Just like the rest of us, newborns experience physical, chemical, and emotional stresses. Just think about how stressful the birth process must be! Newborns need an adjustment as soon as possible after birth to ensure that the nervous system gets off to a good start.

Can I Receive Chiropractic Care After Surgery?

Chiropractors are well trained in spinal and body mechanics and know how to effectively treat those that have had spinal and other operations. In fact, after a surgery, an individual can highly benefit from chiropractic care since the surrounding spinal joints are under increased stress due to hypermobility and compression post operation. Chiropractic care is beneficial to ensure that another surgery can be prevented!

Can People with Osteoporosis Receive Chiropractic Care?

Yes. Many different techniques are available for the chiropractic doctor to treat any kind of patient. The doctor will take great care and ensure a comfortable and gentle treatment is delivered.

How Long Will I Need Chiropractic Care?

The length of care depends upon your health care goals. It is entirely your decision! Some patients want to get rid of the pain - only a few visits will be necessary. Typically, the problem will reoccur in a few months or years and the patient will return for another series of treatments. Other patients elect to receive continual care to maintain and eliminate the problem areas and increase their overall function and well-being. Some do best coming in once a month, others at various intervals. It is ultimately your choice.
